Paraplanner jobs and Paraplanning, in its own right, is a relatively new role within financial services. With demand high for qualified candidates and many companies battling over competent paraplanners, now is a good time to break into this area. The paraplanner prepares the suitability report by providing technical research and analysis of the market, which the financial adviser uses in his or her discussion with the client. Increasingly paraplanners are encouraged to complete professional qualifications. There are a few different routes you can take to improve your technical competency and accreditation: • The Chartered Insurance Institute (https://www.cii.co.uk/) offer the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning - Diploma units are assessed by multiple-choice question exam (MCQ) (R01, R02, R03, R04, and R05), and a written case study-based exam (R06). • The CII also offer the Level 4 Certificate in Paraplanning- The level 4 Certificate offers a dedicated qualification route, developing paraplanning skills, expertise and advanced technical knowledge in several key advisory areas. The Certificate comprises four core units from a choice of five, providing a total of 80 credits on successful completion. R01- Financial services, regulation & ethics, CF1 UK financial services, regulation & ethics, R02- Investment principles and risk, R03- Personal taxation, J09- Paraplanning.
